MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon meet for just the second time since the latter club were formed in 2002.

MK have no new injury concerns, but boss Karl Robinson is expected to make changes following Saturday's 4-2 win over Gillingham.

AFC Wimbledon defender Andy Frampton (ankle) remains sidelined while on-loan centre-back Adam Barrett is ineligible.

Striker Adebayo Azeez is the only one of Neal Ardley's nine summer signings who is still awaiting his debut.

The old Wimbledon FC were renamed MK Dons in 2004, a year after re-locating 56 miles to Milton Keynes.

AFC Wimbledon won five promotions in nine seasons to reach the Football League in 2011.

The two sides played each other in the second round of the FA Cup in December 2012, with MK Dons scoring an injury-time winner to progress 2-1.

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:

'I think the way the clubs and fans conducted themselves after the last game was how it should be once again.

'What Neal Ardley and his staff have done there has been very good.

'They made the last game here very difficult for us. It was a wonderful occasion.

'It was on TV and I thought the media hyped it up more than they had to. Now it's not on TV and we're left to our own devices to play the game.

'The league is more important than the cup for me. The game at Peterborough on Saturday is massive. It's the next game, so you want to win it, but it's not up to me to get carried away in the politics.'

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley told BBC London 94.9:

'I am very emotionally tied in with this club. There are a lot of people it is very raw with.

'If we could put a smile on some of their faces and give them that moment, then that would mean a lot to me.

'It can't be as bad as it was 18 months ago when I first took the job. We are a better team than we were then.

'We will do as much as we can on Monday and make sure the players understand how we are going to approach the game.

'We want to keep players fit but we will pick a team that we think will win the game.'

Head-to-head

The sides have never met in the League Cup or the League with their only previous meeting the previously-mentioned FA Cup tie.

MK Dons

MK Dons have progressed in each of the three League Cup ties in which they had been pitted against a side from a lower division.

AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon have never made it further than Round One of the League Cup in their three appearances in the competition.
