Tennis: Former World No.1 Roger Federer needed only 52 minutes to breeze past the Canadian wildcard Peter Polansky in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 in the second round of the Rogers Cup in Toronto.

Federer was appearing in his first match since losing the Wimbledon final in 5 sets against Novak Djokovic last month.

2-time Rogers Cup champion, Federer has won both of the titles in Toronto, reaching the final here once and none in Montreal, so he clearly likes Toronto more.

Federer started by breaking his World No.129 opponent in the first game of the match, but Polansky broke back immediately. Federer broke him again in the 3rd and the 5th game and won the first set 6-2.

Second set was even easier for him as he handed the Canadian wildcard a bagel and moved into the third round not leaving any drops of sweat.

The Swiss is making his first appearance in Toronto since he lost the final here 4 years ago in 2010. He skipped the tournament in 2012 and 2013.

In the third round, he will face the winner of Marin Cilic and Malek Jaziri.
